Common questions

Do I need to be a licensed real estate broker to use Keystead?+

Not for managing your own properties. California (and most states) only require a broker's license when you manage someone else's property for compensation. Keystead is built for owners managing their own portfolios — though licensed PMs use it too.

Can I connect multiple bank accounts?+

Yes. Most portfolios have one account per property (or per LLC). Keystead links each account to a property — so expenses paid from Beacon Hill's checking show up under Beacon Hill's books automatically.

What happens to my lease PDFs?+

They're stored in your private Vercel Blob bucket and only accessible from your authenticated session. Claude reads them in-memory to extract data; nothing is retained on Anthropic's side after the request.

Is my financial data secure?+

We use Plaid (the same infrastructure that powers Venmo, Chime, Coinbase). Plaid handles bank credentials — we never see your password. All your data is org-isolated; two workspaces can't see each other's records.

Can my CPA use this at tax time?+

That's the goal. The Schedule E report aligns to IRS line items (Insurance line 7, Mortgage interest line 12, Repairs line 14, Taxes line 16, Utilities line 17). Export to CSV, hand to your CPA, done.
